Zed Mitchell is a musical jack-of-all-trades. His 5-octave voice makes him a singer in a class of his own. He is one of the best guitarists in Europe. And looks back as a composer and songwriter on over 20 published albums. Dive into the world of a musical talent.
Belgrade-born bandleader, singer, guitarist and composer Zed Mitchell began his career as a professional musician in 1970, during which time he played with many well-known bands in Yugoslavia.
In 1974 he had his first international hit single with his own band "LAND" called "SHOSHANA" for POLYDOR Europe. After this great success and many radio sessions as well as TV, he played as support act on tours for bands like "FOCUS", "DEEP PURPLE", "IAN GILLAN BAND" and many more. He played concerts all over Europe. At the end of the seventies he founded the "School for Rock Guitar" in Belgrade.
From 1988 he worked in the ARCO - STUDIOS in Munich, with the producer Malcolm Luker and the film composer Nick Glennie-Smith, the right hand of Hans Zimmer, who received two Oscars. Music lovers, insiders and other artists count him among the spearhead of the blues scene and mention his name in the same breath as artists such as Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Gary Moore or Robert Gray.
His talents were appreciated by artists such as Tina Turner, Phil Collins and even Pink Floyd, who hired him for their recordings, and Eros Ramazotti and Natalie Cole also booked the Sting magician for their studio recordings. German stars such as Curt Cress, Udo Lindenberg and Leslie Mandoki also rely on Zed Mitchell's extraordinary style. Mitchell finally celebrated one of his greatest successes with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, for which he recorded all acoustic and electric guitars and whose CD sold more than one million copies.
Zed Mitchell is the string wizard!
And anyone who has seen Zed Mitchell live with his charming style, who has heard the blues in the notes he played, knows why.
